Inspired by Coldplay’s “Politik”, Open Up Your Eyes visualizes the atmospheric yet powerful mood of the song. James’ focus here was on simplicity; he wanted to accentuate the light-to-dark blue gradient of the sky giving the feeling of floating at the edge of the atmosphere. Model Cody’s seemingly downward movement is counterbalanced with the moon/planet pairing in the top corner –– one of James’ favorite things is seeing a full moon before the sun has gone down.
